Traditional Production Facilities and Early Production Facilities (EPFs) differ primarily in their engineering and construction execution models, while both are capable of delivering the same high-quality product.

When a project is approached in EPF mode, based on standardization and modularization, clients can expect delivery times reduced by at least half, without compromising on product quality or operational safety.

EPF engineering focuses on standardized, modular designs that enable fast deployment and transportability, allowing clients to adopt flexible business models, including Build-Own-Operate (BOO) solutions.

Experience and Capabilities

The Sertum Consulting team has extensive experience in the design, construction, and operation of approximately 30 Early Production Facilities deployed in diverse environments, including offshore fixed platforms, semi-submersible FPSOs, FSOs, and onshore applications.

We also provide engineering services for traditional Production Facilities (EPC model) and have a proven track record in Field Development Studies and Feasibility Studies, primarily across the Middle East and Latin America.

Our experience covers facilities with production capacities of up to 80,000 BOPD and 350 MMSCFD, including:

  • Oil conditioning, sweetening, dehydration, and desalting
  • Oil export systems
  • Gas treatment, sweetening, de-hydration, dew point control
  • Gas compression
  • Amine plants for acid gas removal
  • H₂S removal (biological and chemical methods)
  • Sulphur recovery plants
  • Water treatment and injection systems
  • Power generation and utility systems

Procurement and Equipment Supply

Sertum Consulting also supports clients with procurement and manufacturing of production equipment — from individual components to complete process packages.

In selected cases, we can offer flexible commercial arrangements, including Lease-to-Own models.
